The right receiving site depends on who generated a load and what it contains. A contractor's vehicle, ordinary office-clearout material and industrial process waste are not interchangeable categories. Describe the actual load before arranging its destination.
Use the current McCleary Court list
York Region's McCleary Court Community Environmental Centre page lists accepted materials and exclusions. Industrial waste, industrial/commercial/institutional hazardous waste, and soil or clean fill appear among exclusions. The list also identifies specific small-business entries, including refrigerated appliances with the required CFC-removal sticker.
Do not turn those rules into a blanket statement that every business load is rejected, or assume that a household hazardous-waste entry accepts business material. Confirm the exact category with the receiver before departure. Do not import another depot's vehicle restriction into McCleary Court's rules.
Describe the load, not just the property
For an office clearout, distinguish loose furnishings, electronics and ordinary renovation material. For an industrial-unit enquiry, identify whether the material comes from building finishes or a process installation. The second label requires more information; an empty factory is not evidence that everything inside is ordinary debris.
Steelpoint's junk and debris service assesses accepted removal scopes. Hazardous or otherwise specialist materials require their responsible providers and an appropriate receiving route.
Prepare a receiving confirmation note
| Record | Office-clearout example | Industrial-unit example |
|---|---|---|
| Generator and origin | Actual business and property | Facility and source of each material |
| Contents | Listed furniture/renovation categories | Ordinary building material separated from unresolved process items |
| Vehicle/load description | Actual proposed delivery | Actual proposed delivery, not an assumed depot allowance |
| Receiver decision | Accepted categories and conditions | Confirmed route or documented alternative |
These are illustrative information fields, not approvals or completed Steelpoint loads. Record who confirmed acceptance and when; recheck if the material or delivery arrangement changes.
Resolve exceptions before loading
If the public programme does not fit, the responsible project team must confirm another suitable receiver. Do not mix an excluded stream into an otherwise accepted load to make the original destination work.
Request a removal assessment with the Vaughan property, known material categories and any receiving confirmation already obtained. Keep unknown materials clearly identified so the scope and destination can be resolved before work proceeds.
