Garage and Shed Demolition in Vaughan

Garage and shed demolition removes detached garages, metal sheds and small outbuildings from a property. It's for homeowners and builders in Vaughan, Kleinburg, Maple and York Region clearing space for a new garage, an addition or a yard. The slab can come out too.

How we deliver it

Our photo shows a metal storage shed on a cleared lot before removal. Small metal sheds like this are usually taken apart panel by panel and the steel sent for scrap. Wood-framed garages are normally brought down with a mini excavator once the roof has been opened.

A detached garage often has electrical service running to it. Power has to be disconnected and made safe before demolition, and a licensed electrician handles that part. If there's a gas heater or a water line, those are disconnected too.

Older garages can have asbestos-containing materials in roofing, siding or old panels. The owner's designated substance survey under section 30 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act identifies them, and any asbestos is removed under O. Reg. 278/05 first.

The floor slab is a separate decision. If a new garage will go on the same footprint, your builder may want the slab broken out to put in new footings. If the area is becoming yard, we remove the slab and leave the ground ready for topsoil and sod.

A detached garage in Vaughan may need a demolition permit depending on its size, so check with the City before work starts. We'll raise it at the site visit.

Garages are often full when the job is booked. We can clear the contents as part of the same job, sorting metal, wood and general waste, and setting aside anything like paint, fuel cans or propane tanks that needs separate disposal. Access for the machine is usually through the driveway, and we protect the driveway surface where the tracks cross it.

Illustrative future building footprint

Consider a hypothetical property whose responsible team has established the approvals and design for a future garden suite. The existing garage removal, other outbuildings, retained trees and new building footprint still need distinct boundaries. The example does not establish permission for a real property or mean that clearing the garage includes excavation and construction for the new suite. Use the actual authorised design and retained-site instructions for assessment.
