How we deliver it
Our interior photos show the range of this work: ceilings opened to the joists, walls stripped to the studs, a stone fireplace surround broken out, a shower taken down to the backer board and a ride-on scraper lifting old flooring across an open main floor. Each job starts with agreeing exactly where the demolition stops.
That line matters most around the building's structure and services. Load-bearing walls are left alone unless an engineer's design says otherwise. Plumbing, wiring and ductwork are left in place or capped by the right trade, and we mark anything that has to stay.
Dust and debris are managed room by room. In occupied homes, we wrap furniture and fixtures in plastic, as you can see in our ceiling photo, and seal off the work area where we can. Debris goes into bins or trailers so it isn't carried through finished parts of the house.
Older homes need care. Plaster, vermiculite, some flooring and some ceiling textures can contain asbestos. The owner's designated substance survey under section 30 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act identifies it, and any asbestos is handled under O. Reg. 278/05 before general demolition starts.
At handover, the space is swept and ready for framing, plumbing or electrical, with the scope confirmed against what's left standing.
Debris routes are planned before the first wall is opened. In a house, that often means a window or door close to the work, with a trailer or bin parked right outside, so bags and boards don't travel across finished floors. In condos and multi-unit buildings, we follow the building's rules for elevators, protection and working hours, and we book those with management in advance.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a permit for interior demolition in Vaughan?
- It depends on the work. Removing finishes like drywall and flooring often doesn't need one, but removing or altering walls, structure or plumbing usually falls under a building permit for the renovation. Check with the City of Vaughan's Building Standards department before work starts.
- Can you remove a load-bearing wall?
- Only with an engineer's design for the new support. We remove the wall once temporary support and the design are in place.
- What about asbestos in an older home?
- The designated substance survey tells you what's there. Any asbestos is removed under O. Reg. 278/05 before general demolition starts.
- Can we live in the house while you work?
- Often, yes. We protect finished areas and seal off the work area where we can. It depends on the size of the job and which rooms are affected.
