Retaining-wall removal: settle the ground-level question first

A retaining wall separates areas at different levels. Removing the wall is therefore a different question from removing a decorative boundary. Describe the intended condition of the ground on both sides before requesting demolition.

Identify the retained land and nearby structures

Provide available survey levels and show property lines, buildings and paved areas near the wall. If levels are unknown, record that gap. Do not assume the land can be allowed to settle or slope into another area after removal.

Obtain the design direction before the removal scope

Ask the responsible professional to define the replacement or revised ground arrangement. Confirm any authority questions with the appropriate municipality. Steelpoint's assessment should receive that direction rather than being asked to design a retaining solution through a demolition quote.

  • Show both sides of the wall and their uses.
  • Identify ownership and access questions.
  • Name who designs the condition after removal.

Define the next decision

Request a scope assessment and state that retaining-wall suitability needs confirmation. Structural and ground-support work is project-specific. No safe removal method or automatic capability is promised by listing concrete removal as a service.
