Steelpoint assesses warehouse racking removal in Vaughan and across the GTA as part of its commercial strip-out work. An enquiry can cover redundant rows, selected bays or racking alongside an office or mezzanine alteration. Identify the rack system and what the facility intends to keep before agreeing the removal boundary.
Choose the rack boundary, not just the aisle
A marked aisle does not necessarily describe a complete independent rack assembly. Provide the available supplier information, bay identifiers and layout, including links to adjoining rows or building components. The assessment establishes what can be accepted within the demolition package; the responsible designer or supplier resolves the implications for retained racking.
| Intended change | Information to bring |
|---|---|
| Clear whole redundant rows | Row limits, rack ownership and the floor area needed afterwards |
| Remove selected bays | Retained rows, connections and the supplier's direction for the remaining system |
| Combine racking and fit-out removal | Separate rack, room and platform inventories on the same plan |
Release the stock and connected items
The facility arranges stock clearance and identifies equipment, guarding, services and other attachments. An empty bay is not confirmation that everything connected to it is available for removal. Name the people responsible for electrical or other connected systems and the condition required before the affected work begins.
Racking disassembly or demolition is different from machinery rigging or moving stocked systems. If the owner wants equipment relocated or materials sold, establish that separate arrangement before describing the contents as waste. Steelpoint does not promise resale value, intact recovery or suitability for reinstallation.
Agree the floor that remains
Discuss anchors, fixings and the surrounding floor with the receiving contractor. Specify the agreed removal endpoint and who handles any subsequent concrete repair, preparation or new rack installation. Do not assume a cleared row leaves a finished operational aisle.
Our racking versus building-structure guide helps distinguish the assets from the building. For a platform in the same area, use the separate mezzanine removal assessment.
Request a racking assessment
Request an estimate with the property location, rack layout, whole-row or selected-bay objective and the facility contact. Explain which stock, systems and neighbouring areas remain, and whether the next user needs an empty footprint or a separately specified floor condition. Access, construction and retained-system requirements determine the accepted scope.
